Apparently this is my 4th Miscellaneous Monday post. Sorry if you don’t like them. 😉
Friday night, the Hubs and I went furniture shopping, hoping to buy a chair and a half – have you heard of them? Bigger than an armchair, smaller than a loveseat – perfect for cuddling.
We weren’t crazy about any of the furniture, in spite of the amazing deals. Instead, I ended up with one of these:
Apple cider martini at Bravo. Yes, please. Don’t worry, I had a salad too.
Lunch on Saturday was low maintenance, thanks to frozen sweet potato black bean burgers and leftover squash soup. Warm and filling.
Well, lunch was filling until I got the idea of donuts stuck in my head. I tried a recipe from a blog that I was less than satisfied with (even with cream cheese icing). Too dense and chewy and not donut-y.
I was so disappointed that I tried a second batch, using the recipe right from the donut pan.
They looked lighter but didn’t smell sweet or buttery, and I got busy with other things before I got a chance to frost or top them with anything. After leaving the on the counter all night long they became hard as rocks and promptly met the trashcan. Double donut fail.
Sunday I had a spin class date with a friend (one of my bridesmaids) then hit the grocery store for a fresh squeezed juice – apple, carrot, and ginger. Mmm! Very spicy from the ginger but felt fresh and nutritious.
After spinning, Adam and I went and bought beautiful tile for our bathroom. I can’t wait to see it all come together!
I made baked oatmeal this morning before work – a lightened up version (recipe to come soon).
Matte nailpolish – yay or nay? I can’t decide. I added a shiny topcoat after this photo and liked it more.
Getting caught up on my favorite blogs, working, and trying to get to the post office to buy stamps to mail my thank you notes! Have a great afternoon!
