Chocolate Craving

Last night after a taco salad for dinner, I was having a major craving for chocolate.  Having struggled through 40 minutes on the airdyne bike at the gym, I didn’t want to totally negate my workout.

Blogger recipes to the rescue!  I was hoping for a microwaveable, molten-type chocolate cake recipe.  I know I’ve seen one before.  After checking out Katie’s single lady cupcakes and Deb’s protein muffins, I decided on trying the combination below.

As you can see, I always end up changing the original recipes depending on what I find in the pantry or what I think the recipe needs once I start.  It was also my first experience using liquid stevia – I tried 3 drops.  Peanut flour was one of the substitutions listed on Deb’s recipe, so I used chocolate PB2.

All mixed up and ready to go!

After 3 minutes in the microwave I added a few chocolate chips on top.

Although it puffed 3/4 of the way up the bowl, once it cooled it flattened back down again.

Verdict?

Eh.

I think I changed too many components.  Maybe more stevia next time.  Maybe a different flour (oat or pastry).  It definitely had some chocolate flavor and was filling enough to satisfy my craving.

Didn’t someone post a healthy molten cake recipe?  I’m on the hunt for it!

What blog recipes have you tried recently and loved (or not so much)?

I’ve tried those caked before too and wasn’t impressed. 😦 Maybe I just like the real thing too much?!

Today I posted about a disappointment… I finally tried Sun Warrior protein powder and thought it was chalky. I reallllly wanted to like it.

If you find the molten choc cake recipe, I want to try it!!

I adapted a muffin recipe not long ago. It wasn’t bad, but they didn’t come close to any good bakery muffins. They were quite healthy though, so at least that’s something! Better luck next time – Recipes are always hit or miss.

I am always changing up recipes to cater to what I have in the pantry LOL! Sometimes they end up better, or sometimes terrible. It just depends 🙂

Recently I tried a chickpea/feta salad with tomatoes and fresh basil. It was great!

Love chocolate too! I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner! I just posted a cake recipe that atleast I thought turned out good… hopefully others will too 🙂 Although after reading your post I think I might try adding some nut butter to the recipe.

I tried a microwave muffin last night but I made it too dry and needed way more sweetening…it looks like we’re in the same boat my friend…I totally changed up the recipes, too. I’m hoping to try another one tonight though!

I have a whole bunch of recipes bookmarked and on my to-do list! I have never been a good baker so I am pretty sure it would take me 20 times to get the above recipe to even taste edible lol!

I tried that recipe as well! … It was decent, but I got tired of it very quickly! … My favorite recipe that I’ve stumbled upon is oatmeal cookie dough cereal .. it’s DIVINE! Youll have to try it 🙂 Recipe can be found on Young Married Chic’s blog! http://youngmarriedchic.com/2011/05/cookie-dough-cereal/

I change recipes a lot, and sometimes ending up putting the dough down the drain. 🙂 In the blog world, I tend to like the naturally healthy (i.e. cookie dough cereal) recipes more than the “healthified” desserts.

I love making healthy desserts a lot of the time, but sometimes only the real thing will do!

I would love to find a healthy molten cake recipe! That is one of my favorite desserts.
I try to modify recipes and don’t always have the best success. It sounds good, sorry it didn’t turn out.

I tried to make CCK’s homemade coconut butter and it just didn’t quite work. Or maybe I was expecting it to have a smoother, more butter-like texture and it just didn’t happen. Eh, can’t win ’em all. But I hate when you’re craving something and then your recipe doesn’t turn out–no fair!
